Innovation cheques for 40 million to small and medium-sized companies
The organisation SISP (Swedish Incubators & Science Parks) has been trusted by Vinnova to distribute innovation cheques to small and medium-sized companies in 2022. Piteå Science Park, Arctic Business, Luleå Science Park, Boden Business Park and Skellefteå Science City are members of SISP and will all be involved in distributing SEK 40 million.
From February, companies in Norrbotten and Västerbotten have the opportunity to apply for a cheque for up to SEK 100,000, which can be used to develop an early innovative idea through external expert competence. It could involve business development, intellectual property rights and access to test beds, for example.
– It feels great to be able to lower the threshold for the entrepreneurs, start-ups, and smaller companies that we come in contact with, so that they will be able hire external help to advance through their innovation journey. In our network, there are incredibly skilled people and other resources that can be of support, says Ulf Westerberg, innovation manager at Piteå Science Park.
Companies will be able to apply for innovation cheques directly from members of SISP – for example Piteå Science Park, Arctic Business, Luleå Science Park, Boden Business Park and Skellefteå Science City. The application will open at the beginning of next year. Exact dates and how the application process will look like, will be communicated as soon as it is set.
